But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.

Even Temporary Moving Takes Time
In mid-June I began shutting down our house in Arizona and by late June I was setting up living conditions for our home in Maine as we have transitioned for the Summer. The change of address across the country entails lots of organizational details so regular routines have to be set aside. In a way, as much pleasure as we derive out of this annual move, it is still very interruptive. Hence, quite a lot of time has passed since my last blog posting here in TruthTold or in AlongSideCoach.
Peter Makes My Planning Less Important
One of my recent daily Bible readings came from 2 Peter 3 and really brought relief in my concern that I may have become slack in my commitment to the Lord for these postings.
The Apostle Peter speaks to Christians about time and God’s view of time. Time means nothing to God, but we become upset and concerned that we only have a day to complete something. God is not at all concerned about time elements, in a single day He can accomplish what would take us humans a thousand years. We on the other hand look down through time and at the things that frustrate or oppress us and wonder, where is God? To God a thousand years are but a day. Why do I become so concerned and frustrated, the frustration is of my own making.
Humans either say God’s promises are false because over two thousand years have gone by since the promise was made, or they can think God is slow in keeping His promises. However, we would do well to remember the purposes of God are so great and so wonderful beyond what we could imagine that their working out in human time takes time. Of course His power is so awesome that if and when He deems it is time, He can perform it in the twinkling of an eye, no matter what it is.
I will do well to settle down and not let man’s time drive me. Like the old saying goes “take time to smell the roses” or how about my version “sail instead of power“, let’s enjoy the journey nothing frustrates God.
