Truth Told

Listening to a podcast, I heard Dr. Del Tackett ask and answer the question, what is truth? His response was profound, “truth is reality”!

Jesus said…

“You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

Our world culture at the moment has left reality and is instead developing a desired or stated reality. As an illustration, it is like a dog saying I don’t want to be a dog, I want to be a cat. The dog then demands that all other animals or humans from now on call him a cat although his genetics and biological makeup defy him being a cat and confirm in fact he is a dog. Contamination of truth is currently running rampant in this country. We are told to ignore factual and scientific based truths and believe a provided narrative that is something different than truth or reality.

Dear Christian brothers and sisters, and that’s what you are and not an it, as we look to God’s infallible word, the Bible, we can see how this has come to be.

18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who suppress the truth by their wickedness. 19 They know the truth about God because he has made it obvious to them.

Truth is suppressed and foolishness is elevated when wickedness reigns. As a nation we are suffering the consequences of leadership who are calling black white and white black.

What Shall We Do?

PRAY!

14 Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land

I’m afraid “the ball is in our court“. God says if His people will pray, not the foolish ones who are responsible but rather God’s people. Our task as God’s children isn’t to rail out on social media (I’ve done some of that), we are to humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways. What are our wicked ways then, being complicit by being silent about God. We are too fearful that we will be canceled by our friends, family, or work colleagues.

7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.
8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord.
