In the Old Testament book of Malachi, we hear a message God gave to Israel through Malachi. It would profit any child of God today to pay attention to this message which is relevant down through time.
“I am the LORD, and I do not change

Chapter 3 of Malachi contains the announcement of the coming of the Lord to His temple by the messenger of His covenant, which we know to be Christ. This was God’s answer to the words of God’s people which wearied God. They were saying “Where is the God of judgment?” According to G Campbell Morgan, here was God’s reply. God was not only still with them, watching over them; He was coming into His manifestation; and to administration. God would be purging the priesthood, and judge the people righteously. In the midst of this announcement we find our quote that the Lord does not change.
The hope for the children of Israel was the unchangeable nature of God. That is in fact the only hope for all of humanity. If God changed in holiness, then the uttermost corruption of man would come into being and that would mean complete corruption of humanity. If God changed in love, then He might just leave people in the issue of sin with no remedy. If He changed, then the children of Israel and the rest of humanity would be consumed. But we find our ultimate hope in God’s own words that He DOES NOT change.
God makes no terms with sin and He provides a remedy for humanity, redemption from sin.
God Provides Our Remedy!
Today, in our world of chaotic turmoil, widespread corruption, national celebration of unrighteous lifestyles and false morality, which is wearying, God changes not. Our hope and remedy is in our God of grace and truth. Truth demands judgment, which is coming. However, if your name is written down in the Lamb’s book of life you are safe and secure within God’s grace.
